Local Natives at Proof HQ

Our Proof Flagship store is located in the heart of downtown Boise. Lucky for us, we are in close proximity to many different concert venues. Every so often touring artists make their way into our shop. Last month was no exception when we were visited by Local Natives, an Indie Rock band out of California.

Just in case you're not familiar with these guys, which seems unlikely considering their 2.6 million monthly listeners on Spotify and multiple world tours, we'll give you a quick intro. Local Natives released their first album called Gorilla Manor in the United States in 2010 and debuted No.3 on the Billboard 200 New Artist Chart. They have played shows in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Sweden, France, Germany, France, Italy, Australia, Japan, Belgium. Malaysia, and Portugal (just to name a few!). Their third album, Sunlit Youth, was released last year.

They first played in our little town of Boise in May of 2010 at the Neurolux. This year Local Natives opted for a larger venue to support their growing Boise following, playing around the corner from us at the Knitting Factory. They were in the middle of their 2017 tour coming through Boise, heading to Coachella next.

Despite their massive fan base, you’d never guess they were living in the limelight. Their hometown and down to earth demeanor fit right in with everyone at the shop, chatting about food and coffee (only time for the essentials here at Proof!). Their tour continues throughout the year, and they'll play Red Rocks Amphitheater in Colorado June 18th and in Berkley, California in August. Checkout their full list of tour dates to catch a show near you! We promise you don’t want to miss these guys and their good vibes. In the meantime, we pulled together some of our favorite Local Natives songs to soundtrack your day!
